Place: Lohgad Fort, Pune, India
After lot of wandering in the deserts, it is time to spend some time in places filled with natural greenery. There is no doubt about it, that Pune is surrounded by such alluring places filled with natural beauty.
Although I have visited Lohgad many times earlier, this place never seize to impress with its untouched view of the modern world and commercialisation.
Its better the start your journey before sunrise to make the most of the early morning to avoid the heat and get the sunrise view. Our plan didn’t work out quite well and we got the see the sunrise on the road 😛
Going to Lohgad From Pune is very easy and straight forward. One have to take the Old Mumbai Pune Highway and head towards Lonavala and you will reach Lohgad in no time after passing couple of village along the way. The way is filled with greenery and decently maintained:
As you start walking up the perfectly preserved and maintained steps of the fort, you will get the feeling of walking towards the past.
the fort has many narrow path way filled with antique objects i.e. old artillery guns, beautiful gates and much more…
as you walk up, the scenic view will start becoming more and and more attractive…
on the top of the fort, there are couple of temples and old structures. The wide life is so seamlessly indulge in the place, its difficult to find the difference…
Entire fort is filled with so many appealing spots for you to practice your photography skill and pose in couple of them.
Lohgad has a long history with several dynasties occupying it at different periods of time. That is the one of the reason its still maintained in the good shape and attached many tourists, trekkers throughout the year.
Although ideal time to visit Lohgad would be in the winter season, but it bring out different colour in different season. So, i will recommend to pay visit once in winter and once in rainy season. Below is the two different shot of same place in different season…
as I always recommend to explore the old and new places with your friends and family…
in the journey to explore incredible India and much more….
